Xherdan Shaqiri received mixed reviews from Liverpool fans when he signed from Stoke City in the summer.

The fact that he came from a recently-relegated club arguably did not help matters, but he soon became a favourite among the fanbase.

The attack-minded star has not started a game just yet, but Liverpool have begun the season strongly having won all four of their Premier League matches.

Shaqiri has come off the bench in two top-flight fixtures, but has only played 27 minutes in total.

The former Bayern Munich star certainly caught the eye while on international duty with Switzerland as he scored and played a vital role in his nation’s 6-0 thumping over Iceland.

The interesting part about the performance was that he was played in a number 10 role.
